A variant of the game was a favorite pastime of the ancient Egyptians. This extraordinary design by Noble offers modern collectors, players and decorators a rare opportunity to own one of mankind's greatest intellectual achievements. At either end of the board are two semi-circle hollows that serve as "granaries". Beautiful gold foil images are embossed in the supple, leather surfaces depicting the staple grains of our ancestors: Corn and Wheat. Separating the two granaries are twelve graceful leather tiles. These tiles form the games simple, yet delightful playing surfaces. On either side of the board are hidden doors that conceal internal channels. These unseen channels serve as storage areas for thirty-six metal playing pieces. Measures 15" x 9" x 1". Packaged weight: 7.4lbs.
