Hand Carved Carousel Horses (& More) on Consignment
$3,500: This Allan Herschell Roach Mane reproduction was carved in 1993 after I (Craig Swanson) I restored an original 1920 horse. The blanket and straps are covered with jewels and it has metal shoes. Some of these horses sport a tassel in the middle of the forehead. These figures were made especially for traveling carnivals that stressed the need for sturdy, easily maintained, durable horses. The horses had large distinct heads and small compact bodies.
