Hand Carved Carousel Horses (& More) on Consignment
$4,500: The Dentzel Carousel Company originally produced this style of rabbit in 1917. I (Craig Swanson) think it is one of the most appealing of menagerie animals produced. This style of rabbit was introduced by a Dentzel carver, Salvatone Cernigliaro, after the advent of the jumping mechanism for carousels in 1907. I carved this Dentzel style rabbit like the famous “flirting rabbit” with a man in the moon on the show side. The intricately carved fur ands flowing line of the trappings enhance the beauty of this fabulous creature. See the “tree” in the fur on the show side and chest. Contact Craig Swanson 816-833-3573
