The design philosophy behind Klipsch horn technology has always been high efficiency, resulting in low distortion with broad dynamics, and controlled directivity, essential elements in accurately reproducing a state-of-the-art motion picture soundtrack. Controlled directivity focuses the soundtrack information directly at the listening area to insure proper placement of the soundtrack elements, which is tantamount to the THX experience. The KT-LCR center channel speaker, which reproduces dialogue and the majority of on-screen information, also serves as a bridge between the matching KT-LCR left and right front channel speakers, assuring that the soundtrack information tracks smoothly across the listening area. The KT-LCR front left, right, and center channels are video shielded, and will not discolor a television picture.

THX standards require two dipole surround speakers. The KT-DS produces a diffuse dispersion pattern as a result of dipolar radiation characteristics. Dipole radiation projects sound toward the front and rear of the room, resulting in a null at the listening position. The result is improved envelopment with no localization to the sound source, which truly puts the listener in the middle of a believable motion picture experience.

The powered subwoofer reproduces the very low bass frequencies that put the excitement and emotion into a motion picture soundtrack. The KT-SW cleanly and accurately reproduces the transient bass passages found in the most demanding movie soundtrack, bringing a new level of realism to the home theater experience. The KT-SW has been specifically designed to integrate with the performance of the KT-LCR front channel speakers.
